Craft Attempt #2
I was able to make Monroe a quilt a few months back and it turned out great. It was a lot of work but I know it's something he'll have for a long time. I went to a baby shower this past weekend and wanted to make our friends a quilt but an easier version. I found this tutorial and used it as my base. The idea that they gave of buying a $12 microfleece blanket at Ross or TJ Maxx and cutting it up to quilt with was genius (the minky material for babies is so expensive, about $16/yd). I just alternated a simple grey and white oxford stripe fabric and made it for around $40. The rag quilt pattern wasn't as simple as I thought it'd be but it was more cost efficient.
