Nose Frida, cool or gross...
Monroe got spoiled for his birthday. Just yesterday he received a Nose Frida from his Auntie Myeong. She just opened an online baby store, Organic Stars. I had never heard of it, but I think it's pretty awesome, where Kirk on the other hand thinks it's gross. It's a baby nose aspirator. You stick one end of the tube in your babies nose and then suck. There's a filter that stops any boogies from going into Mom's mouth. Look below at the picture, it might explain it better.
I did try it on Monroe and he didn't fuss at all, where usually he screams until he turns purple. I brought it home for Christmas so I'll see what the other mom's think. Anybody out there tried it?

Busy, busy, busy
Monroe has this toy that sings this song,"Busy busy busy, there's so much to do...". Kirk has been changing the words and singing, "Mommy's really busy...". It's true, there is so much going on this time of year but I'm happy staying busy.
One of my biggest projects was designing these new labels, setting up a website and an Etsy shop. They are wraparound labels that are printed with all of your recipients name and addresses. To tell you a little bit about them they are mainly for weddings, but can be used for any occasion. They are pretty unique because you can create them in any font, color or design to make them match your invitation, and the more you get the lower the price/label. 500+ labels are only $0.39! It's been fun designing some pre-made labels but it has also taken a lot of time. Finally, they are complete! Let me know what you think, especially if you have feed back. You can view them all either on my website or through my Etsy site.

A home for Jenny... anyone?

I bought this Jenny Lind bassinet at a thrift store a few years ago. I had the best intentions for it, but time crept in on us too quickly and I couldn't complete the renovation in time for Monroe. We needed to clean out our garage to make room for other baby gear and decided the bassinet needed to head back to the D.I. When I tried taking it in this morning, they told me they aren't allowed to take baby gear anymore because of all the recalls. He said they would just destroy it, so I should try to find a home for it elsewhere. Does anyone out there need a bassinet? It does need some tlc, a fresh coat of paint and a little cushion inside. The above picture is just what it could look like with a few hours of work. Let me know... if not it may have a dim future, wa wa.

Secret Admirer

Kina moccasins, from Fawn and Forest
I must say that Monroe is so spoiled and loved, he even has a secret admirer. This weekend we got an anonymous package in the mail with the sweetest little moccasins. I think I know who got them for him but it didn't say anywhere in/on the package. Thank you for the amazing booties that will keep Monroe's little feet from icing over. It's been snowing all day today and by the time he arrives I can only imagine how much snow we'll have in Cache Valley. Anybody out there want to reveal themselves...?

Not-so-mom jeans
So my abs have taken a turn for the worse... they're non-existent.
This is what my belly is starting to look like:

16 weeks
Although I've only gained 8 pounds, I'm pretty sure my hips have started to reshape themselves. My pants are no longer buttoning up and although I've heard of the hair elastic trick (where you string it through the button hole to give you a few extra inches) I was introduced to lounge pants.
My intern, Pam, had on some weird pants that looked a lot like maternity pants. Apparently they are called lounge pants and sold in the Nordstrom's junior section. Since they are in the junior's section, I ordered two styles in a size 7 (I'm normally a 4/6).
They are a great replacement for maternity pants since they don't have the high mom butt and you can wear them like normal pants postpartum! They're on sale right now for $24.90, so if you know any pregnant people or if you like undoing your top button when you're driving or watching t.v. get them while they're hot.
