Colors, mmm

We find out the gender of our baby next Friday. You'd think I could wait 'til then to start 'nesting' but I've been having small anxiety attacks when I walk past the future nursery room. I want to be ready! Slowly I've been collecting images I like and showing them to Kirk. We finally agreed on colors today for the nursery and it was the last touch I was needing to initiate the start of decorating.

The main source of inspiration for the nursery is a print that I bought a few years ago from Adrienne Smart, an amazing printmaker. I wanted to use it as the focal point of the nursery. In the photo below it is the print in the top left corner. Everything else is branching out from this print, I love it!

Don't you just love that fish!? Adrienne, I still love it as much as I did the day I bought it. The pink in the accent colors is if the baby is a girl. I'm just in love with this palette, and that it is pretty gender neutral but can easily adjust with a few accent pieces. If you notice, we are missing some essential nursery pieces, i.e. the crib. This is one area Kirk and I have not agreed in. I'll post some of the candidates later this week and maybe we can get some input.

  2. I am more than a little jealous of your print, it rocks. Plus, who wouldn't want something on their wall that makes you think of Adrienne every time you look at it? :)

  3. I know, I must say I'm a little obsessed with Adrienne's style. And I'm so excited to use the little fish, what child wouldn't be the happiest looking at that all day?

  7. Remi we will for sure call you, : ). Hey Alicia, I'm so glad to hear from you. Right now I'm with Dr. Horsley, but I'm having a midwife deliver me. She's the CNM at the women's center. I like Dr. Horsley a lot as my backup but I felt more comfortable having the CNM deliver me.
