Monroe's No Cavity Day

Monroe had his first dentist appointment today! For us, he never behaves this well. He did such a good job, I think it was in part to watching this YouTube video over and over. He is in love with a Georgia peach. Here is his entire visit if you want to watch it (grandma's and grandpa's).

After we left the dentist's office he told me, "That dentist, no like it. That boring." He's an opinionated little guy, there were no toys so he wasn't too impressed.

Je m'apelle Claude

Have you ever see the friends episode, The One Where Joey Speaks French? We're going through that with Monroe right now. It's pretty funny. We say a word to him and he responds in the right number of syllables but not even close to the right word. Watch the Joey video and then watch Monroe if you want (you can never watch too many FRIENDS episodes, right Remi?):

Forgive Me Utah

Today on the way to work, I had my first roadkill experience. I was driving along in front of the elementary school and I saw a seagull slowly swooping towards the car. I was sure that it would change its flight path but no... it locked in eye contact on my front tire and dove straight into it. I felt the thud underneath me and immediately called Kirk... but no answer. It wasn't dead and it was just stretching out it's neck in a circular motion. I didn't know if I should:

A. Run it back over and take it out of it's misery,
but maybe make a more traumatic experience for the school children
B. Call the police, I mean IT IS the state bird
C. Just keep going.

I just kept going and watched the bird through my rear view mirror... I felt like I was crazy to back over it again but apparently that was the humane choice and I failed. Poor bird. I'll drive by after work and if it's still struggling, I guess I'll finish what I started.

Life passing by...

This last month went by way too quickly. I know most pregnant ladies can't wait for it all to be over, but I really like the thought of having a person with me all the time. I was telling Kirk, "It's just so fun having someone with you all the time. It even tops it when people in high school called me and Rachel magnets, because the baby is with me all the time!" Then Kirk asked, "You know what could top this? If Rachel was in your stomach!" That would be pretty fun, especially since Rachel moved to Spain and I can't see her as often.

Well Labor Day came and went. The joke around the office was to have a Happy No Labor Day. Mwa-ha! They're so clever here. We spent it with our friends Lindsey and Cole. They have a cabin in Island Park and it couldn't have been more fun. Kirk and I took a day to visit Yellowstone.

Also I know I mentioned that we got our crib in this week. Kirk had it up and going by the time I got home from work. This is a sneak peak into our nursery/storage room. You can see the color we painted the nursery (thanks to Aunt Trish and Rod) and the fabric of the unfinished curtains hanging but we really need to clean out the room. It's a bit chaotic. It's such a pretty crib though, don't you think?

Please disregard Kirk's immodest appearance. His iguana shorts are pretty cute though, just a bit short.

Holla'!

School started up again today at USU and for the last week students have been moving up and into the dorms. The other day I had only walked about 300 yards from my office and realized I needed to use the bathroom NOW. The only buildings around were the freshmen dorms. I dashed in and there was a group of boys getting off the elevator. Being the first week of school and I'm sure ready for any action, they hollered at me from behind. It was so funny because I heard a, "Heeeey!" and so I turned around. It was so funny to see the expression of EEEK on their face as they saw my belly and hurried out of the building. This is what they saw:

(Note: I do not suggest a pregnant freshman girl
to live in the dorms, it seems like it would be a tough life.)

I thought your belly button was supposed to get bigger... I heard today on the radio that the belly button is the 'universal physical characteristic that all humans share'. Soon I may not be considered human (27 weeks).
