Bump It
The snail fabric is from Heather Ross's Far Far Away line. It is from the same line as the froggy curtains.
Yay, Monroe is finally at the age that it's safe to have a bumper. My friend Sarah gifted this bumper to Monroe. I chose out the fabrics and her mama, Kim, made it. I love it and I think Monroe's head does too. He's started to get a bit crazy at night, so it's nice to have some padding for that noggin.
Thanks Kim!

Done!
The nursery is done! It has been so much fun working on it, but I will say I'm glad that overall it's pretty gender neutral. That way in the future we won't have to redo too much if another gender decides to come into our lives.
I didn't want to overwhelm this page with photos, but I just couldn't narrow it down either. You can play I spy and see all the little gifts that everyone gave Monroe around the room. Thanks again! It wouldn't have been the same without all those personal touches.

Countdown begins...
We're only about one month away from our guess date, which means the baby could be here anywhere from 3-6 weeks! Kirk and I have been hard at work getting the little nursery ready for Monroe, and it's almost there. This dresser is one piece we had fun working on. The dresser came from Kirk's family's cabin in Sun Valley. I've loved this piece since the first time we visited the cabin.

It just needed a little painting and some new hardware. I love the way it turned out. We actually found the hardware at Lowe's and I adore the little branches and stones. We should be able to finish the rest of the nursery this week, so I'll post pictures as soon as I can. Yay!

Life passing by...
This last month went by way too quickly. I know most pregnant ladies can't wait for it all to be over, but I really like the thought of having a person with me all the time. I was telling Kirk, "It's just so fun having someone with you all the time. It even tops it when people in high school called me and Rachel magnets, because the baby is with me all the time!" Then Kirk asked, "You know what could top this? If Rachel was in your stomach!" That would be pretty fun, especially since Rachel moved to Spain and I can't see her as often.
Well Labor Day came and went. The joke around the office was to have a Happy No Labor Day. Mwa-ha! They're so clever here. We spent it with our friends Lindsey and Cole. They have a cabin in Island Park and it couldn't have been more fun. Kirk and I took a day to visit Yellowstone.

28 weeks
Also I know I mentioned that we got our crib in this week. Kirk had it up and going by the time I got home from work. This is a sneak peak into our nursery/storage room. You can see the color we painted the nursery (thanks to Aunt Trish and Rod) and the fabric of the unfinished curtains hanging but we really need to clean out the room. It's a bit chaotic. It's such a pretty crib though, don't you think?

Please disregard Kirk's immodest appearance. His iguana shorts are pretty cute though, just a bit short.

New Family Member
Well it might not be as exciting as a new baby, but pretty close. Kirk and I finally chose a crib that we both agreed on, (applause)! I got it ordered and he's on his way to his new home. Here he is:

It's called The Sparrow and we were able to get a really good deal from a company in Salt Lake, Envy Furniture. I think this will ease my nesting anxiety.

Eenie meanie...
The crib dilema. Man I feel over privileged just writing that first part. Seriously, I'm having a dilema over what crib to have my baby sleep in...? I really am lucky! I'm mainly posting this for the mama's and grandmama's out there that have had to listen to Kirk and I debate over our preference in crib. I won't say who likes which, but please let us know which one you like and why if you don't mind. Here they are:

Colors, mmm
We find out the gender of our baby next Friday. You'd think I could wait 'til then to start 'nesting' but I've been having small anxiety attacks when I walk past the future nursery room. I want to be ready! Slowly I've been collecting images I like and showing them to Kirk. We finally agreed on colors today for the nursery and it was the last touch I was needing to initiate the start of decorating.
The main source of inspiration for the nursery is a print that I bought a few years ago from Adrienne Smart, an amazing printmaker. I wanted to use it as the focal point of the nursery. In the photo below it is the print in the top left corner. Everything else is branching out from this print, I love it!

Untitled by Adrienne Smart, lamp from Urban Outfitters, curtains from Urban Outfitters, fabric from Hart's Fabric, fabric from Purl Soho, rug from UO, bookcase + drawers + doors from IKEA + fabric backing from Purl Soho, chair from Pottery Barn Kids, room/color inspiration from Design Sponge
Don't you just love that fish!? Adrienne, I still love it as much as I did the day I bought it. The pink in the accent colors is if the baby is a girl. I'm just in love with this palette, and that it is pretty gender neutral but can easily adjust with a few accent pieces. If you notice, we are missing some essential nursery pieces, i.e. the crib. This is one area Kirk and I have not agreed in. I'll post some of the candidates later this week and maybe we can get some input.
